Weekly Obsessions #4

My birthday is this weekend, and as such I use it as an occasion to abuse my husband’s goodwill by indulging in all the things I love the most this week. People in my life know that I don’t just celebrate a birthday. It’s a birth event. A week-long excuse for me to do as I please. Re-reading this, I know it sounds a little bit diva, but all it really means is that I get to watch a few extra episodes of TV I love, or get to pick our weekend movie without hearing sighs or complaints about the fact it probably stars Katherine Heigl.

Here are the things I’m loving this week:

1. L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara- I’ve seen around the beauty/makeup internets that this mascara was awesome. I’m happy to confirm that it’s true. Very rarely is mascara good during the first few uses. Most formulas need to dry a bit to give a good impression, but this was has been great from the first go. Try it. It’s fantastic¬†(If very full, long, and amazing lashes are your thing.)

2.The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black- I’m blowing through this book. I haven’t even finished it yet, but I like it so much it’s making the cut.

3. Chocolate chip cookies. I love them so much I’m making a cake out of them this weekend for my birthday. I will try to consume as many as I can with as much coffee as I can, because why the hell not.

4. Nikkie Tutorials on YouTube. Her channel is awesome. She’s a professional makeup artist and crazy talented, but she also does great product reviews. I learn a lot from her, and if I’m not careful, I get sucked down a black hole of watching her entire video archive.

5. The Great British Baking Show- if you love cooking competition shows, this one is by far the best. The cast is relate-able (and real), the challenges are interesting, and the judges aren’t jerks. My only complaint is that I have to wait for a week for new episodes. This has binge watching written all over it. (PBS is broadcasting it States-side)

I get to make dinner for my family this weekend for my birthday ( I love cooking for them) so my family is my last favorite. I can’t wait to have them all around my table, eating good food and inevitably laughing until one of us (mom *cough *cough) cries. Can’t wait!
