I’m in full denial about the snow outside my door. It’s frigid, snow is everywhere (not as bad as the East Coast- sorry Boston) and I’m over it. In order to fool myself into thinking it will be warm soon, I decided to put on some Spring/Summer makeup. This is the makeup I go for when I know I’m going to live in sunglasses- minimal eye makeup, maximum lips.
I always start the same way- if you’ve read any of the other posts I’ve done it’s no surprise. My foundation for this look is the tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour full coverage foundation in Light Neutral, cut with a bit of Maybelline’s FIT me concealer in 15 to lighten it a bit.
As a side note- my overall redness is down quite a bit since I started using the new skincare products I picked up in January. I’ve been mega-babying my skin, and it’s in better and better shape everyday.
I primed my lids with MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly. This cream base gives me a flat finish, and evens out my eyelids. When I don’t wear much eyeshadow, I like to really take the time to create an even and flat canvas so the redness/veins on my eyelids aren’t as obvious. On the mobile lid, I patted a bit of a cream highlighter by Doll 10 to ensure a bit of lightness and shine. Then, as usual, I tightlined with gel liner.
I lightly dusted my primed lids and crease with ‘Chopper’ from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (my personal favorite of the three). It’s a light coppery shade with a bit of glitter/shimmer, so it gives my eyes just a hint of shimmer and color, but they still look very natural. Then I lined with a bit of my fav liner pen the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. Pretty sure everyone I know has been encouraged to buy this liner. Mascara and BAM! Eyes are done.
Next, I set my face with bit of my trusty MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium. Then, for blush, I used an ancient blush from my drawer. It’s Revlon and it’s very peachy pinky brown. It’s old enough I don’t even know what it’s called (Golden Affair?), but if you are curious, it’s in the product picture below.
It’s incredibly subtle, but when you put on orange lips, you need subtle. Speaking of orange lips, the lip product of choice is the Mirenesse Glossy Kiss lip stick in Quick Kiss, which apparently, isn’t available any more on their website. So booooooooo. This was a hold over from last summer and it’s my fav. Had I known, I would have bought another 2 or 3 to make sure I always had one. Bummer.
Natural eye makeup, natural skin, and amazingly bold lips. I look forward to wearing this look over and over again in the summer. BRING. IT. ON.
