Matte eyeshadows have become my life. It may be the fact that fine lines are showing up ALL OVER THE PLACE, but I’m really into single-shadow looks in a matte formula. And with Spring right around the corner, I’ve felt the need to simplify my routine. Second only to not having to grunt my way into tights every time I wear a dress, changing my makeup routine is what I look forward to the most. And recently, I’ve been compelled to sweep on a matte shadow, slap on some mascara and call it done. I know this will be my go to Spring makeup.
My day to day makeup is pretty non-descript: neutral eyes, mascara, and lipstick when I can be bothered. I own some beautiful eyeshadows that I’ve never used because they are outside my comfort zone. I sat down with one of my recent purchases, the Lorac Pro Palette 2, which has quickly become a favorite, and forced myself to use colors that I’d normally leave untouched. I didn’t have a plan, and I didn’t know if I’d like the outcome.
Tightlining is the easiest way to improve your makeup game. It’s the step I see skipped most often, especially among my blonde and light-brown eyelashed comrades. It’s simple, easy to master, and makes a big impact.
